House Keypers was started as a result of the need for seasonal home owners or owners with a reason to have to vacate their dwelling for any timeframe, to feel the security that “all is well” on their home front while they are away. When I was growing up, my parents had a condo on the west coast of Florida and spent 3-5 months there every year. Then it was back up north to enjoy the summer months. It was always an issue for them to leave the condo and be concerned about security and leaving the condo unattended. They would ask neighbors or friends to check the condo and inform them of any problems. These people watered plants and did other small tasks and would inform them if anything needed attention. Consequently, there were items of concern over the years, hence the idea of a “watchful eye business” was formed that would ease the minds of the homeowner and keep the home or condo in shipshape condition and, of course, secure. House cleaning is also a service we offer so you can return to your home ready to enjoy. The winter season can be somewhat unmerciful (ice, wind or even snow storms, etc.) and may leave many people without power for extended periods of time. This may or may not cause problems within the vacant home, but could require attention to many items such as refrigerators, freezers, heating/air conditioning units, etc. My experience is backed by 37 years as an electrician including 30 years as an electrical maintenance mechanic with Eastman Kodak. A veteran of the Vietnam era, I was with the USCG as an electrician’s mate for four years, assigned to maintain and upgrade various stations in the Great Lakes districts. This introduced me to many challenges in maintaining governmental equipment used in search and rescue and border patrol. From the military, I went on to the Eastman Kodak company where I spent the next 30 years in the construction phases of many buildings and then to the maintenance divisions dealing with keeping critical processes online for production. In addition, I also was the general contractor for homes we built over the years. I’m well aware of the problems that could arise in a home and thus am prepared to respond as needed.
